Shift Leader Overview
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Shift leader, they must ensure that the operation runs smoothly, efficiently and according to Five Guys standards while also overseeing and directing employees. You're responsible for cash management, organization, cleanliness, consistent with Five Guys Policies, and general problem-solving while on duty. One of the main responsibilities of a shift leader is managing employees. The shift supervisor assigns tasks to crew members and makes sure they are doing them properly and efficiently. Shift leaders must provide breaks to employees and ensure that the positions are covered as each worker rotates through. If employees call in sick or fail to report to work, shift leaders must either find replacements or reorganize the help on hand to make up for the missing labor. Should employees commit errors or need to be reprimanded, the shift leader must either resolve the situation or alert the store manager, depending on the situation.

Effectively leads the restaurant during a shift to ensure that excellent restaurant operations are consistently achieved
Lead each shift by delegating duties, assigning specific tasks and ensuring team members are prepared for each day
Responsible for the training and development of team members
Contributes to a team environment by recognizing and reinforcing individual and team accomplishments
Follow inventory control procedures and guidelines
Follow cleaning charts, checklists, and guidelines including Steritech
Follow Five Guys and KRNBLZ operational policy and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety/security, to ensure the safety of all teams members and guests during each shift
Assist with labor management daily
Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture of Five Guys
Must be proficient in each area of the restaurant in order to help where ever needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant and ensure proper set up and breakdown of the entire restaurant including dining room, restrooms, kitchen and prep areas
Work as a team to prepare restaurant for each shift
Ability to manage time effectively while meeting all job responsibilities
Maintains a positive work environment for team members and guests during each shift
Greet guest to make them feel welcome and comfortable
Ensure that team members prepare food items according to Five Guys standards of quality, consistency and timeliness
Check food quality and food temperatures throughout the day to maintain company and HACCP rules and regulations
Follow sanitation and safety procedures including prep and kitchen equipment
Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products, and supplies weighing 50 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, copiers, and other office equipment.
Hours may vary if shift leader must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise (typical work week = 35 - 40 hours).



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
